Civics Exam Required for Graduation

Utah Code 53A-13-109.5 requires that all students pass a basic Civics exam in order to graduate from high school. The exam is administered to PCHS students during their senior-year Government class.

Seniors and early graduates must take (and pass) the exam on one of the testing days below if they:
1) did not pass the civics exam in their Government class or on the make-up test day in February,
2) do not have a Government class in their schedule,
3) transferred to PCHS having already earned Government credit, or
4) chose to take the Government class through an online provider.

To fulfill the Civics graduation requirement, students have TWO FINAL opportunities to pass the exam:
Monday, May 15, at 1:45pm in Room 237
Monday, May 22, at 1:45pm in Room 237 -This is your last chance!

The exam will take no longer than 45 minutes and students will need their laptops (bring a charger if needed). This is a Pass/Fail exam and will NOT show on the Park City High School transcript or affect any course grades.

The exam is 50 multiple choice questions derived from the Civics Test used by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Study materials and practice questions can be found at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website:

New Student Enrollment for the 2017-18 School Year

During the month of May, we will be pre-enrolling new students (not already enrolled in the district) for the 2017-18 school year. Information and enrollment packets will be posted on the New Student Enrollment page by May 1st.

Q3 Report Cards are available in PowerSchool

Quarter 3 Report Cards are now available in PowerSchool. Parents and students can log into PowerSchool and click the "Report Card" icon to view and print the report card as needed.

(If your student withdrew from PCHS at the end of the quarter, we will mail their final transcript to the last known mailing address we have on file.)

You can check your student's grades, attendance, and assignments anytime with PowerSchool using the parent account information we mailed home in August. Get the PowerSchool access that best fits your needs--access the secure parent portal from a desktop, laptop, or mobile device, or use the PowerSchool Mobile App (with push notifications) from any smartphone or tablet (the PCSD mobile district code is GFGM). If you need your Parent Technology Account information, contact the Registrar or the Tech Office.

In an effort to be more efficient in delivering your student's end-of-quarter grades, PCHS now provides report cards electronically via PowerSchool. When the report cards are ready, they will be uploaded to the students' PowerSchool accounts. You will receive notification via email, then you can log in to PowerSchool to view and print the report card as needed. If you don't have access to the internet or a printer at home, students can save their report card on their laptop and/or print it out at school.
