Board of Education Academic Seal
All PCHS graduates will be eligible for a Board of Education Silver or Gold Academic Seal of Distinction on their diploma. Students must meet additional eligibility requirements in grades 9-12 to qualify. Contact your Counselor if you have questions.
Interested students must submit:
Academic Seal Intent to Qualify Form
Academic Seal Verification of Community Service Form (due annually)
Board of Education Academic Seal with Distinction Requirements:
For the district’s policy, see section IV (Board Recognition) of PCSD Policy 9080-Graduation Requirements. Requirements for the Board of Education Academic Seal with Distinction include completing the course requirements outlined for the Academic Seal (specific classes required) earning a cumulative minimum grade point average of a minimum of 3.0 for the Silver Seal and 3.5 or higher for the Gold Seal and completing 25 hours of community service per year.
Courses include; Successfully complete a minimum of 28 credits in grades 9 through 12, including the following distribution requirements:
4.0 units of Language Arts
4.0 units of Social Studies (including World Geography, World Civilization, United States Studies, and United States Government)
4.0 units of Mathematics (including or beyond Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2)
4.0 units of Science (including at least two of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science)
3.0 units of one foreign language (or two years each of two different foreign languages)
2.0 units of Healthy Lifestyles* (1.5), and Health (0.5)
2.0 units of Career and Technical Education
0.5 unit of Digital Studies/Computer Technology
2.0 units of Fine Arts
2.0 units of Electives
0.5 unit of General Financial Literacy.
*11th and 12th grade students may fulfill a required 0.5 credit of Healthy Lifestyles by participation in Park City High School varsity athletic team for two sport seasons.
