Park City High School

Parking Permits

Due to the property size, we have a limited number of parking spaces available. To park in the school parking lots, students must have a valid Parking Permit for the current school year and shall only utilize the lot specified on the permit.

There will only be 450 permits for the East/West Lots, 100 permits for the Church Lot, and 200* permits for the Treasure Mountain (future Athletic Complex) lot available to purchase. More permits are sold than actual spaces are available to take absences and class schedules into consideration.  (*An unknown number of spaces in the Treasure Mountain lot may be fenced off or will otherwise become unavailable once demolition of the school begins. Safety will always take precedent over student parking.)

Alternatives to parking at the school include walking, biking, carpooling, the district's School Bus service, and local transportation services Park City Transit and High Valley Transit. Parking at nearby businesses or apartment complexes is strongly discouraged as they can and will tow vehicles from their property.

Contact the Main Office if you have questions about student or visitor parking.

Parking Permit and Parking Lot Rules:

All Park City High School students agree to abide by the parking rules and regulations whether they purchase a parking permit or not. Students who violate the parking rules or have outstanding fees or fines may have their permit suspended and/or be refused a permit the following school year.

Students are not guaranteed a parking space in the PCHS lots, even with a parking permit. Because more permits are sold than actual spaces are available, once the PCHS lots are full, students with East / West Lot permits ONLY are expected to park in red-painted spaces at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Church Lot) located on Monitor and Lucky John, if spaces are available. If no spaces are available, students must make other arrangements.

  • Parking permits must be displayed and clearly visible at all times, in ALL parking lots.
  • Students are NOT allowed to park in any lot without a permit, or in any lot that their permit is not issued for.
  • Students may NOT park in white-painted and/or numbered parking spaces. Those spaces are reserved for teachers and staff during school hours.
  • Students may NOT park at McPolin Elementary. That lot is for their staff and visitors ONLY.
  • Students may NOT park in the visitor lot in front of the school for ANY reason. The visitor lot is for visitors ONLY.
  • The Church Lot on Monitor and Lucky John is a By Permit Only parking lot in its entirety. To park there, students must have a valid parking permit and are to use the red-painted spaces ONLY. The spaces directly around the perimeter of the church are only for patrons of church functions during school hours, and using those spaces may result in sanctions.
  • Sophomores are ONLY allowed to purchase and then park in the old Treasure Mountain Junior High lot. An unknown number of spaces may be fenced off or will otherwise become unavailable once demolition of the school begins. Safety will always take precedent over student parking.
  • Any student who parks in a staff, visitor, McPolin, or unauthorized Church Lot or Treasure space, is subject to a ticket, being booted, towed (at owners’ expense), or their permit being suspended.
  • Any student holding a parking permit who is found transporting or taking a Freshman or Sophomore off school property for lunch will have their parking privileges suspended for a period of one month. This rule is in place to ensure the safety and accountability of all students during school hours.
  • The 2026 Sundance Film Festival will take place from January 22 to February 1, 2026. As hosts, Park City High School and the Eccles Center reserve the right to greatly reduce parking spaces prior to and after the event to accommodate the festival.
  • Various events hosted by the high school, the school district, or the Eccles Center may affect parking throughout the year on a need-by-need basis.
  • Parking permits are NOT transferable, and may NOT be sold to or given to other students.
  • Parking permit fees and parking fines/fees are not refundable for any reason.
  • ALL students enrolled in Park City High School are subject to the parking rules and regulations whether issued a permit or not.

Purchasing a Parking Permit for the 2025-2026 School Year:

STEP 1 - REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

  1. The student MUST have a valid Driver’s License on or before August 1, 2025, to be eligible for a parking permit. Learner’s Permits are NOT accepted.
  2. You must FIRST complete a Parking Permit Form which will be located in the Main Office. Completion of the form is NOT a guarantee of a permit. Any misinformation found on the form or attempts to obtain a permit through fraudulent means will be sufficient reason for immediate suspension of a permit. The completed and signed Parking Permit Form is required and must be presented in person on the designated permit sales date (see below).
  3. Every vehicle listed on the Parking Permit Form must have a valid paper Vehicle Registration. You will be required to present the vehicle registrations when you purchase your permit (copies or photos of registrations will be accepted).

STEP 2 - PURCHASE AND PAYMENT - IN PERSON ONLY:

Students may ONLY purchase a parking permit IN PERSON on the assigned permit sales date for their grade level. Any student who attempts to obtain a permit before their assigned date will be denied and will forfeit eligibility to receive a parking permit. On your grade level’s assigned day, there will be several input stations where you will enter your Parking Permit Form information into a Google Form, present the required documentation, and pay the permit fee.
   - Seniors = August 12 from 8:00am to 2:00pm.
   - Juniors = August 13 from 8:00am to 2:00pm.
   - Sophomores = August 14 from 8:00am to 2:00pm.

YOU MUST BRING THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION WITH YOU!
1. Student's valid Driver’s License (NO Learner’s Permits).
2. Parking Permit Form signed by your parent/guardian.
3. Paper Vehicle Registrations for all vehicles listed on the form.
4. $100 fee payment, payable with Cash, Check (preferred), or Credit Card (limited basis). If you use a credit card, the permit fee and any and all additional fees will be charged to the card holder. Fee waivers do not apply to parking permits. Parking fees are NOT refundable for any reason.

Contact the Main Office if you have questions about parking or purchasing permits.
