Violence & Bullying Prevention
VBC Prevention Plan
Park City High School prioritizes prevention by offering support and services to our students and their families. Some of our everyday efforts, the systems and strategies for supporting our students, are listed below:
Schoolwide Prevention & Wellness
- Restorative practices during in-school suspension and mediation opportunities
- Monthly prevention campaigns with classroom lessons, lunch tables, bulletin boards, and TV ads
Wellness Wednesday & Murphy Minutes announcements - Therapy dogs during lunches and mornings
- Zen Den is located in the school
- Teen Center with food pantry, laundry, kitchen, and shower
- Special Olympics basketball is in place
- Lunch Bunch to welcome
- Birthday emails for all students
- Prevention bulletin board with campaign information
- Posters across the school and community promote campaigns
- Freshman Success/Geography lessons include prevention, resilience, and success topics
- Prevention lunch tables, which are community and student-driven
- Design and deliver lessons to classes on monthly campaigns
- Assemblies with guest speakers
- MTSS for attendance, behavior, wellness, and academics
- School clubs and athletics
- Mental health providers (school counselors, school psychologists, or clinical support)
- District partnership with the Cook Center
- Health protocols in place

- Miner Advantage, Miner Lift, and Study Hall classes are available for support
- Transition activities and lessons to aid in moving from EHMS to PCHS
Student & Community Involvement
- Student Prevention Committee, PBIS/Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Committee, and Leadership Clubs (Student Council, NHS, Latinos in Action)
- Community lessons: Tribe Talk, Live Like Sam, Health Dept., Peace House, Restorative Justice Collaboration
- Family and community events; coordination with community partners
Monitoring & Feedback
- Monthly student questionnaires; SHARP survey (biennial)
Staff log behaviors in PowerSchool; MTSS/Multi-Tiered System of Supports addresses attendance, behavior, wellness, and academics - Attendance interventions (letters, meetings, contracts)
- Prospecting miners/teachers support
- Safe UT App and Website
Staff & Safety Training
- Regular training on bullying, harassment, suicide prevention, and trafficking
- The Threat Assessment Team uses C-STAG/Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines protocols; safety drills are conducted regularly
- On-site police and security officers

- Supported by PCEF, PBIS/Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports funds, and community partners (Live Like Sam, Utah State Board of Education, Health Dept.)
